Mr. Yeung holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. From 1993 to 1995, he managed several reforestation projects in Guizhou, a province in southwestern China, funded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Between 1995 and 1996, he participated in the ecological restoration project of the Loess Plateau, which was supported by the World Bank. From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Yeung served as a special consultant and member of the Asia expert team for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), contributing to the development of the carbon emissions calculation framework and carbon credit trading system that supported the Kyoto Protocol. In 2003, he became the Fund Manager for LESS Limited of the Kadoorie Family in Hong Kong, where he helped establish China’s first Green Fund and successfully implemented three Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects under the Kyoto Protocol. In 2008, he co-founded Ascent Partner Group Service Limited and later launched its ESG department in response to Hong Kong’s 2016 mandatory ESG reporting requirements. Under his direction, the firm has produced over 400 ESG reports for publicly listed companies in Hong Kong. In 2019, Mr. Yeung collaborated with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) to provide training to the Government of Bhutan on issuing sovereign green bonds. From 2022 to 2024, he was again engaged by UN ESCAP as a special consultant to develop the “Asia Pacific Green Deal” project. In recognition of his expertise, the Chinese University of Hong Kong invited him to join the Programme Advisory Committee of the MSc in Sustainable Global Business from May 2025 to May 2027.
