Dr. Michael Chun Wah Wu, holds a doctor degree in business administration (Best Thesis Award) and a master degree in corporate governance (Distinction) from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also holds a master degree in business administration from Northeast Louisiana University, a diploma of Business administration from the Hong Kong Shue Yan College, a diploma of China trade and investment from the Peking University, a diploma of China laws from the Guangdong Economic Laws Research Centre and a postgraduate diploma in management from the Asia International Open University. He is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, associate member of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute and the Chartered Governance Institute.
Dr Wu is the chairman and responsible officer of Creative Asset Management Ltd. licensed to carry out type 4 (advising on securities) and type 9 (asset management) regulated activities under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong) (“SFO”). Prior to his present employment, Dr. Wu was the Chief Executive Officer of China Chengtong Asset Management (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. which is directly wholly-owned by China Chengtong Holdings Group Ltd., a central enterprise supervised by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
Dr. Wu has extensive experience in financial investment and corporate finance. He was appointed as senior executive of various international banks and financial institutions including BNP Paribas Peregrine Capital Ltd., American Express Bank Ltd., CCIC Finance Ltd., etc. Dr. Wu was appointed as executive director and independent director for various listed companies including China Chengtong Development Group Co. Ltd., Creative Energy Solutions Holdings Ltd., Incutech Investments Ltd, Shanghai XNG Holdings Ltd. and FDB Holdings Ltd.
Dr. Wu is active in community services. He is currently the chairman of Suen Mei Hearing Charity Fund Ltd, the member of China committee of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, the member of Fundraising and Social Enterprise Committee of the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation and the vice-chairman of the PolyU DBA Alumni Association Ltd. Dr. Wu also dedicates to education. He is the member of Advisory Board of the Research Institute for Business of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. He is also the school manager of Dr. Catherine F. Woo Memorial School and Sha Tin Wai Dr. Catherine F. Woo Memorial School.
Dr. Wu was engaged by various universities and tertiary education institutions as visiting lecturer including the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, the Hong Kong Shue Yan University, the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Hong Kong Management Association and the Chu Hai College for the subjects of fin-tech, corporate governance, financial management, business strategy, practice of banking and China investments.
