Green Deck

Youth ESG Competition on Green Deck

What is Green Deck?

The Green Deck was originally initiated about 10 years ago to solve issues like traffic congestion, poor air quality, lack of public space, and depressed neighborhoods. Positive response has been received from the communities, District Council, and the Government. In 2020, with funding from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (香港賽馬會慈善信託基金), a Project Development Study under PolyU for the Green Deck project was started.

In Oct 2023, the chief executive has mentioned in his policy address about a revitalization plan for the Hung Hom area*. The plan has featured elements of environmental, accessibility, and economic benefits due to property redevelopment in the vicinity. These features are extremely synchronized with the three tracks and benefits of the Green Deck project. We are excited that the current government is taking into consideration the previous work done by the Green Deck project. Therefore, this is the perfect time to run a high school student Green Deck competition to further educate the youth and the public about the Green Deck.
